Exhausted hops fail on the run. Connect does not ship a DLT.
Connect does not operate a Kafka DLT. A failed hop is a FAILED run. Recover from Portal: restart from hop, send data, cancel, or stop.

| Hop keeps failing after restart | Downstream still failing — fix the hop first |
| Duplicate start from Kafka | Same messageId redelivered; Temporal rejects AlreadyStarted |
